List Building Tips That Will Increase Your Open Rate and CTR

My List Building tips that will help you to create a powerful autopilot list building system, allowing you to win your  potential double opt in subscribers  full attention way before they subscribe to your email list, potentially building you a much higher open rate and click through rate.

Email List definition: Similar to a mailing list yet it is compiled of electronic mailing for direct marketing to a group of similar people

Building a List is very important; to put it blunt you’re able to keep connectivity with all traffic that comes to a page of yours that has your email subscription form. Also for campaigns it’s very important to establish a relationship with your customer before you sell them something. With a email list your able to do just that; imagine selling something to a customer that didn’t not like the product, then being able to email that customer more info on the product that actually helps them to purchase your product. Without an email list that would have never happened they would have looked elsewhere online and you would have lost a potential lifelong customer.

Build Email List Subscribers

You have to provide valuable content and help people to completely understand why they are about to join your email list. I generally test different landing pages as the old way of simply taking someone to a landing page telling them to enter their name and email to get the information that you have only tried to explain to them in under a 100 words, does not always work. You either get people that totally have no clue why they subscribed or people thinking you’re going to be there to answer every question they ask at every step of the way – simply because the tease info was not laid out clear enough for them. This is what leaves top Internet marketers gassing a lot of newbie marketers about low open rates in their email list subscriptions. I can guarantee you if you provide valuable clear and concise content prior to a potential subscriber making the decision to join your email list you will get a high open rate and click through rate. If you were to later do a poll on your email list on how they felt when they subscribed to your list; they would say that in no time they subscribed to your list quicker than a cake lover thinks about cake. There are only a few people that I follow their email list that I can honestly say that I remember the day I actually subscribed to their list.

Yes I too myself follow other Internet marketers simply to learn of things there doing.

Open Rate definition:

this is a term assigned to the rate at which subscribers to your email list open any of the email sent to them.

Email open rates

I truly believe that the open rate for your email list will die unless you keep with the flow of what you last sent out to your list. A lot of marketers burn their lists way before making a lot of money of them. Simply because one day they’re starting them off on the basics of what it is they subscribed for and then the next thing they’re sending them a link to a $4000 product, I find that quite funny and think why would you do it?.  Now if you were to follow my simple technique – your open rate would far surpass that of what you had been getting, because your list of subscribers would have liked the last email you sent and you never skip a beat.

Best way to teach online?

Before even thinking about the free valuable content you’re going to provide to tease someone to join your email list, you need to think of the best way to teach people online. Every one of your subscribers has a totally different learning process. This is a very secret tip that many people don’t see why there Click Through Rate (CTR) is so low for a campaign. Some people like the new way of learning watching videos, some people would find it easier to listen to an mp3 file and some people still love the form of reading.

This also comes into play when you take into account the possible slow Internet speeds people experience all around the world; either from not knowing how to maintain their PC/Laptop or just some Internet excuse. It’s always best to serve people an eBook, when taking this into account; a small video may not suffice for the ones that do not have a problem with Internet speeds, this all needs to be coarsely done so it doesn’t look like your signalling out any one.

E learning formats

Reading – we use e-books/websites to provide people reading content.

Audio - we use mp3 files to normally provide people with recordings of online webinars or interviews with people

Video – we use to show people yourself talking or better yet exactly what it is you will be teaching them; this is built in with audio and reading.

The best format to provide your free valuable content in will depend on what resources you currently immediately have at your disposal and on what it is you want someone to sign up for. If I was to put it into one word of what it is you need to think about when providing this free valuable content before asking someone to join your email list, it would be to TEASE the *bleep* out of your potential subscriber. Its dead and gone teasing someone as soon as they get on a landing page by demanding they put in their name and email address and life story in this box before they get the info they really came to your page for.

EBook

So with an e-book you would use an online reading site like scribd, as this would allow you to exhibit part of the eBook you want to show them. Depending on how powerful your eBook is you would extract the best bits of the eBook, similar to what they do online when you preview a book before purchasing it, this is just a form of teasing. You’re able to put a link in the online document – so that if anyone else comes to your scribd document they will be able to go to your site with the web form. This is better than people using YouTube as a source for the video on their landing page and then saying enter your details into the right (watching this video on YouTube just makes no sense, naturally people base the amount of views the video has got at the time they viewed it, with whatever it is that the marketer has explained and that’s all they have to go off with making a choice on subscribing to the info)

Audio

With Audio you would exhibit the most powerful part of the audio, you could piece 4 or 5 parts together and then use as the mp3 file u want to tease people.

Video

YouTube is the best source to show your videos, some will say that it’s not always the case and you may want to upload your videos to your own hosting provider to display on your blog/site. With a video, depending on what the video will be, its best to  show the most powerful parts of the video and then have it cut off were they would need to see the rest of the video to carry out what you were teaching them. The most powerful way of utilizing videos would be to put say 3 – 4 powerful videos on a page with the first one starting on auto play, the first video would dive directly into whatever it is you were going to teach them, the next video would need to be played to carry on learning, remembering that the first video must of been very powerful else you would have a bounce rate just from the first video not showing them anything they didn’t know and then this would take effect all the way to your last video at which when they got into the habit of scrolling down to see the last video you would have your email list there – I can guarantee you – people would sign up so fast to your email list you could enter people into the Guinness book of records

All those methods allow you to build a quality list; so depending on how you get traffic to whatever it is your promoting online, the people that do sign up are more likely to open your emails and convert as long as you know what you are talking about and provide them more valuable information

Scenario

List Building examples that work

You don’t know much about SEO and have not got money to use PPC to drive immediate targeted traffic to your offer which has an email subscription form.  You drive 10 people to your page via free traffic sources; you have clearly shown them why you want them to add their email and name into the form. They have seen previews of how powerful the info you have for them is; they’re mesmerized at how smart your techniques are and are on the edge of their seats. You will no doubt have a much higher conversion rate – you could easily convert all those 10 people and if you don’t – look at it like this, that person was not quality enough for your email list. But think about it – if you provide powerful information, who wouldn’t want to join your email list?

USING THE NEW WAY TO BUILD YOUR LIST

Email Marketing Tips

Video #1 this video should be very powerful as it is your first video and it will have the most powerful impression on your potential subscriber and whether or not they decide to watch the second video, you want them to watch the second video out of excitement of finding out what and how to do whatever it is your showing them next. Not to want to watch the second video to see if they could be won over by the second video. With YouTube you would be able to look at stats on how long people watched the video for – it definitely works better to make the first video no longer than 3-4 mins

Email Marketing Strategies example 1

Video #2 this video should have them raring to press play to watch it after being shocked at what they learnt from you in the first video, obviously you want to give them a longer video than the first. When people like something you feed them more of it to fix their hunger for more, your potential subscriber is not thinking that – there just in ore of being blessed to come across your page and find this info that’s potentially going to help them out online.

Video #3 this video should be the longest of the four videos, you have been giving your potential subscriber short bursts of knowledge in the last two videos. To not let them think that what’s behind your email list isn’t much because the videos your giving them are very short and to feed their hunger for more, this is the video that’s going to win them over as it will be the longest and really pack a punch. No doubt will this one persuade them that you have much more to offer and they need to learn more from you.

Video #4 should hold something of powerful importance – but should be as short as the first video and should leave full imagination for another video to continue what you’re teaching them. By now your potential subscriber has got used to scrolling down to watch another video, has got used to the videos time increasing and loves the excitement of learning something new – you need to spoil that fun, put something in the way of that “EMAIL SUBSCRIPTION FORM” :)
