Today I want to share video marketing tips on how to get the most YouTube videos. I know that depending on your video editing and nature of whatever it is that someone has come across has a high deciding factor as to people staying to watch the full video and then even performing some kind of activity on your YouTube video.
But I want to show you how encouraging people to perform activities on your video will allow you to get the most out of your YouTube videos and increase the awareness of whatever targeted traffic it is that you want to acquire.
Activity could be anything to do with the video, so thumbing up or down, commenting, video response, add to favourites or play list (embedding on a third party site) , if you allow embedding, sharing the video and thumbing up or down peoples comments on the video its self.
Also keyword specific back linking on do follow websites/blogs will give your video even more power and rank for the keywords within your video title.
The secret to get more YouTube views is to first follow my guide on how to do video search engine optimisation and then watch/read as I show you how I use YouTube video annotations.
How to get the most YouTube Views with Annotations
Firstly, what are annotations? an annotator or annotations are one of YouTube’s way of allowing you to add some call to actions or info that stay on top of videos that have been uploaded to your YouTube video channel. Seeing as once you have uploaded a video to YouTube, you are unable to edit it and time can allow a video to render pointless; I guess that’s why they created YouTube’s Video Annotations.

How to Get the Most YouTube Views using Annotation Menu
Above is YouTube Annotation Menu using this I will show you how you can get more views and encourage people to take necessary action to connect with you on YouTube and/or visit your blog/website. Videos get tens to hundreds, if not thousands of views and are a great way of bringing in more free traffic to your website, blog or telephone number.
Something about YouTube Views that no one else tells you
It does not matter how many views you get, what matters more importantly is that the viewer performs at least one activity on your video. A view alone does not benefit you, unless you seriously only need views to profit on your videos. The most important thing is that however many viewers you get on your videos is that all of them at least perform an activity and they become your friend or subscribe to you.
Example: There’s two videos; both on the same topic and relatively the same. 1 video gets 100k (100 thousand) views, whilst the other video gets 1k (one thousand) views.
The video with 100k views only has just that – 100k views : (
The video with 1k views has over 400 activities performed on there video, friends requests, subscriptions, likes up, like downs, visits to there blog and they also covert that traffic into sales
So who wins?
So please all that are reading this understand that, if your getting 10 views a day – you should be trying to get all those viewers to perform activities that will benefit you both.
How to use YouTube Video Annotations
Sign into YouTube > click the down pointing arrow next to your username > select My Videos
Next to whichever video you first want to work on, click on the down arrow next to Insights and select Annotations
YouTube’s Note Annotation allows you to add any text with a good set off options for changing the text colours or background colours. You are also allowed to add any links that are owned by YouTube. (Your videos plus anything else like subscribe)
Add the YouTube Note Annotation directly above the like box area (bottom left corner). This should be on the bottom far left, but at least a few mm above. This is to get around the timeline that appears when a mouse hovers over the video. We do not want that message being obscured. If they were to watch the video on your channel then the like box would render to the right. But seeing as people do not go to peoples channels to predominantly watch videos; that is why we add the note with a call to thumb up the video to the left.
This box should display as soon as the video starts or you could add it at points that you feel were worthwhile in the video. At times during your video when you have come across with something that would to be very valuable to your viewer; would definitely be a good time to ask them something a long these lines:
If you enjoy this video please remember to give it a thumbs up

Why is this first call to action/info important?
If someone performs an activity on your video, it allows that video to start to rank higher and in no time soon you will have access to a full set of analytics for that video, which we will talk about later.
The like button is the best activity that anyone could click with regards to one of your videos. It will automatically syndicate to that persons feed and will start to wake YouTube up about your video.
Scenario
For someone to Thumb Up or Thumb down a video it naturally will feed to there recent activity on there YouTube channel, also with web 2.0 so transparent, it may well feed to their Facebook and Twitter Profiles. This immediately allows for your video to start to benefit.
YouTube Spotlight Annotation allows you to add text on your video in a way that wont obscure the video. As with spotlight, unless a viewer hovers over that area of the video they will not be able to see the text or link provided.
Use the YouTube Spotlight Annotation to the top right of the video and add a subscription link all the way throughout the entirety of your video. I personally use the Note Annotation as that is just me, I believe my content is very valuable and with my advice on list building tips. You will know why it doesn’t bother me to add that link all the way throughout my videos.
This spotlight should stay in the top right hand corner of your video, with a link to subscribe to your YouTube video channel and leave it to display throughout the whole videos duration. Use something like:
“Subscribe to RobertAntwi”

I have created a video showing you exactly how to embed both a note and spotlight annotation. All you have to do is press play and I would highly advise to watch this in 720p and full screen
To conclude this gives you great steps on how to get the most YouTube views, basically by using whatever little traffic you have already coming to your video and advising them to perform relevant activities on your video. Remember that whatever traffic you have coming to your video, i don’t care if its 10 a day, you need to utilize them as there utilizing you either for entertainment or knowledge.
In the next How To Get The Most YouTube Views | Part 2 , I will take this all a little step further and show you more powerful implementations to add to your videos to increase views, keep people staying on your videos and increase your viewers to watch at least 3 of your videos before they go off browsing on the Internet.
I would advise to join me on Twitter, Facebook or/and my RSS feed to get immediate notification of the next post.
